Vancouver’s enterprise data, analytics and AI practitioner community
VAB brings together the people building and applying data, analytics and AI inside organizations across the region. Founded by senior data and analytics leaders and formally chartered as a non-profit society in 2024, VAB is entirely volunteer run.

Why VAB exists
Vancouver has the capability. It needs greater connection and visibility.
Vancouver has major enterprises, strong universities and research, technology companies, startups and experienced data and AI talent. But much of that strength remains fragmented and under-recognized.
Leaders across industries are often solving similar problems without enough opportunities to learn directly from one another.
And while Toronto has Vector, Montreal has Mila and Edmonton has Amii, Vancouver has not developed the same visible centre of gravity around data and AI.
VAB is helping build that centre of gravity on the enterprise side. We bring together the people doing the work, help them learn from one another and make Vancouver’s collective capability more visible.

Strategy & Operations — StratOps
VAB’s operational backbone
StratOps supports the organization across communications, marketing, website, membership administration, event logistics, finance, governance and partnership tracking.
The team works closely with the VAB Executive and Community Program Leadership to keep the organization running and initiatives moving.
