VANCOUVER ANALYTICS BOARD SUB-COMMITTEES

The Vancouver Analytics Board consists of 5 sub-committees: PR & Content, Partnerships, Events, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Member Recruiting.

Each sub-committee is made up of a Sponsor, Chair, Secretary and its members.  A description of each of these roles can be found below.

Christine Mayston

Responsible for the website, newsletters, blog, LinkedIn, media relations, etc.

PR & ENGAGEMENT

Jeremy Coughlin

EVENTS & PARTNERSHIPS

Responsible for the annual event calendar, planning, organizing and running events on behalf of the Vancouver Analytics Board. Additionally, partnerships between the Vancouver Analytics Board and other organizations such as educational institutions, consulting companies, associations, etc.

Sheazin Premji

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Responsible for establishing the vision and goals of the Board in regards to DE&I, progression towards achieving those goals and a culture that lives it on consistent basis

Will Cashman

MEMBER RECRUITING

Responsible for the overall membership program for the Board, attracting and retaining members, and ensuring that we capture and represent the voice of the member community.

Sub-Committee Role Descriptions

Board Director Sponsor: The Board Director Sponsor acts as the bridge between the sub-committee and the Board of Directors.  The purpose of the role is to ensure that the vision, strategy and values of the overall Vancouver Analytics Board are represented in the sub-committee, key decisions and obstacles are brought forward to the Board and to ensure the activities of each sub-committee come together in a cohesive way to achieve the overall objectives.

Sub-Committee Chair: The Chair is responsible for leading each sub-committee meeting, establishing the agenda in advance and progressing the conversation towards key outcomes.  This person is accountable for creating a vision, goals and roadmap for the sub-committee that is aligned on by both the sub-committee and the Board.  The Chair is responsible for recruiting members for the sub-committee and ensuring and establishing a diverse and inclusive culture.

Sub-Committee Secretary: The Secretary owns the organization and management of the sub-committee.  This person plans and schedules sub-committee meetings, sends out the agenda before a meeting and summary meeting notes after the meeting.  During the meeting itself, this person helps to keep the conversation on track towards the intended agenda and time allocation for each agenda item.

Sub-Committee Members: Sub-Committee members are expected to actively contribute to achieving the vision, goals and roadmap of the sub-committee and do so in a manner that is in line with the diversity and inclusion principles as set out by the Board.

​

Sub-Committee Volunteers: The entire Vancouver Analytics Board is a group for industry practitioners, by industry practitioners.  It is entirely run by volunteering.  Each sub-committee is currently looking for volunteers for all positions.  To be eligible, volunteers must be a practicing analytics professional within a Vancouver organization. For more information, please fill out the form using the link below!
